Catherine Finnigan: California Native Plants Project

Catherine Finnigan became an intern in our Environmental Leadership program in September 2022 and completed her internship in February 2023. She is now a member of our Climate Corps.

Catherine launched her own California Native Plants Project website and Instagram page to share information about the benefits of native plants in California and promote organizations that support native plants.

Catherine has grown her Instagram account to over 3,000 followers using a variety of tools from Canva and Instagram. In her videos and blog posts, she showcases California native plants and their role in the ecosystem.

Catherine’s posts have garnered thousands of views per video, with her video on Eucalyptus trees surpassing one million views and thirty nine thousand likes! Many viewers of her Instagram page visit her website to learn more. Some people even reached out to her directly for advice on how to volunteer.
